DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE airline flydubai is increasing its flight capacity to Italy in response to rising international travel demand. According to official statements from Emirates News Agency, flydubai is expanding its operations in Italy by adding more flight frequencies to key commercial hubs. Starting from July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double-daily flights between Dubai and Milan-Bergamo, while also strengthening its presence in Naples with daily round-trip services.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This new schedule broadens flydubai’s overall reach within Italy, which already includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and twice-weekly seasonal summer flights to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, running through the end of August. In addition to increasing flight frequency, the airline has announced operational adjustments due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. From November 1 to November 30, 2026, flydubai will temporarily reroute its daily service from Dubai International Airport to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport, with regular flights to Naples resuming on December 1, 2026. Passengers with existing bookings will be automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.

Codeshare Alliance Enhances Passenger Connectivity via Dubai Hub

The expanded routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples are operated under the existing codeshare agreement between flydubai and Emirates. This partnership allows travelers to benefit from integrated itineraries, single-ticket options, synchronized schedules, and through-checked baggage across both networks. Connecting through Dubai, passengers from Italian airports can conveniently access long-haul destinations in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East—including direct links to Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

This capacity expansion aligns with broader trends in commercial aviation across the Middle East and Europe, where post-pandemic passenger numbers continue to grow steadily. The increased frequency supports rising bilateral trade, investment, and leisure tourism between the UAE and Italy. The new double-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo improve capacity for business travelers accessing Italy’s main financial and industrial hub, while daily flights to Southern Italy cater to seasonal tourist demand for historic sites along the Amalfi Coast.

Commenting on the network expansion, Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, emphasized that Naples and Milan have become vital gateway points within the airline’s European network. He stressed that maintaining consistent regional access remains a priority while reinforcing the airline’s long-term commitment to connecting underserved markets. Al Ghaith noted that market indicators show flydubai is strengthening its operations in Italy with strategic flight increases to handle the growing passenger flow between the UAE and Italy, especially as winter travel volumes rise.

Regional Airports Serve as Direct Access Points for Passengers

Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, highlighted that expanding non-stop flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the strategic importance of Italy in the airline’s network. Efendi explained that offering direct connections allows international travelers to leverage the combined networks of flydubai and Emirates for seamless access to popular global destinations via Dubai. The airline has confirmed that its fleet and operational teams are prepared to support the increased daily flight operations, ensuring reliable service for both passengers and cargo.

These operational enhancements are part of flydubai’s ongoing fleet expansion and international network development plans. As the airline continues to introduce modern narrow-body aircraft, its commercial planning team aims to further increase frequencies on high-demand routes across Europe. The new Italian flight schedules reinforce Dubai’s role as a major transit hub, enabling efficient passenger and freight movement between European origins and expanding destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
