MOSCOW, RUSSIA / RankWire.AI / – Excluding resources and energy, Russia’s exports reached over $96 billion from January to July 2026, marking an 8% increase compared to the same period last year. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced this year-on-year rise in the latest report on Russian exports. The figures exclude the country’s traditional raw materials and energy shipments. This seven-month result continues the growth trend seen in the first half of 2026. All figures are denominated in U.S. dollars.

Russia non-resource exports top $96 billion through July
Russia’s non-resource exports topped $96 billion through July 2026, rising 8% year on year.

Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade, indicated that small and midsize enterprises contributed $15.9 billion to the total export figure for the seven months, representing approximately 17% of Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports during this period. Currently, around 42,700 small and midsize companies are engaged in export activities. These SMEs also accounted for 1,042 out of 1,341 applications submitted for the 2026 Exporter of the Year awards. Applicants represented 76 Russian regions across all eight federal districts.

First-half data show that Russia’s industrial non-resource, non-energy exports amounted to $58.8 billion from January through June, compared to $57.1 billion in the same period of 2025. This signifies a year-on-year growth of about 3% in the industrial export sector. The Ministry of Industry and Trade identified several manufacturing categories with increased foreign sales, providing further insight into the sectors driving Russia’s non-resource export success in 2026.

Growth observed in key industrial sectors

Exports of chemical products rose by 5.3% in the first half compared to the same months in 2025. Mineral and chemical fertilizer shipments increased by 10.4% over the six months. Exports from metallurgy and precious metals grew by 5%, while light industry experienced a 25% increase. Pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and cosmetics also saw an 11% rise. These figures encompass industrial shipments within Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export classification, with all growth rates comparing January through June 2026 to the same period last year.

Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export goal for 2026 is set at $155.25 billion, with industrial goods making up $116.95 billion of this total. The country recorded $163.7 billion in such exports in 2025. Consequently, the 2026 target is approximately 5% lower than the previous year’s figure. These objectives are part of the country’s International Cooperation and Export national project, which includes industrial products, agricultural exports, and infrastructure support for export activities.

Long-term export ambitions outlined by Russia

The International Cooperation and Export initiative also establishes a 2030 target for non-resource and non-energy exports, aiming for a value of $248.1 billion in nominal terms. This goal represents a 67% increase over the 2023 baseline used by the program. Industrial goods are expected to comprise $192.9 billion of this total. The Russian Export Center is actively involved in supporting these efforts, including digital services tailored for companies engaged in international trade.

Current data show Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports from January through July exceeded $96 billion, with SMEs contributing $15.9 billion. Industrial exports in the first half of 2026 totaled $58.8 billion, with growth across chemicals, fertilizers, metals, light industry, and pharmaceuticals. All export values are calculated in U.S. dollars for 2026, and the overall annual target remains at $155.25 billion for the broader non-resource category. Industrial exports are specifically targeted at a full-year benchmark of $116.95 billion.
